Reports continue to come in after a 7.0 earthquake strikes the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. It happened near Port-au-Prince, Haiti – the most powerful quake in more than a century. Major hospitals, bridges and roads collapsed – most of the infrastructure now rests in ruin. The U.S. State Department has been told to expect “serious loss of life,” according to reporters in Washington.

Gleaning For The World is carefully watching this story unfold. Shipments are lining up to send to earthquake victims. Medical supplies, food, water and personal care products are some of the crucial items responders need.
