For the second year in a row, Gleaning For The World has pledged to place at least one million pounds of food into Central Virginia food banks. Over 900,000 people are considered “food insecure” in Virginia alone, meaning they struggle to consistently put nutritionally sound food on the table.
GFTW also provides food and water to communities reeling from natural disaster, famine, war or any other catastrophic occurrence that necessitates a humanitarian response. Whether here in America or another country, Gleaning is committed to filling the empty stomachs of men, women and children in need, regardless of ethnic, religious or cultural background.
