God At Work Through Gleaning

We have many “Wowed by God!” moments at Gleaning.

Last week was full of those moments! Do you ever have those? Where you’re just amazed at all the wonderful things God has allowed you to be part of?

Allow me to share with you just a few of those special moments.

We delivered more disaster relief supplies to Morehead City, North Carolina,  to our partners there who are helping approximately 400 families recover from the destruction that Dorian left behind. The supplies included foods, cleaning products, pet foods, and stuffed animals for the children whose toys have been destroyed by flood water.

We delivered pet supplies to one of our partners in Greenville, North Carolina, to assist with pets who have also been affected by Hurricane Dorian. We have been working diligently to expand out disaster outreach to include more support to animal rescue organizations during times of disaster.

We collected the final boxes of clothing from the clothing drive that Thomas Road Baptist Church held for the people in the Bahamas who lost all of their belongings because of Hurricane Dorian. We are almost finished palletizing these clothes which will be on their way to bless the Bahamians very soon.

We finalized the shipping details of what we call our Christmas Container. This shipping container will be filled with toys and stuffed animals and will be sent out in the very near future, headed to central America to provide gifts for children living in orphanages or in otherwise very poor situations. It is a pure blessing to be able to send these Christmas Containers each year! (…and this year we have been able to send two!)

We were able to locate and obtain 100 desks from a nearby school that had recently closed! This was an answer to prayer for our partner who has desperately prayed for desks for a school in Ethiopia!

The list goes on… of amazing things God has done through Gleaning For The World – just in the last week!

Remember, whether you allow God to use you to be a part of his story around the world, or right in your own community, be encouraged that He is at work every single day!

June is Disaster Preparedness Month: Today's Tip: Ensuring that you keep a phone with you during an emergency can be a vital step in keeping your family and those around you safe. Calls, texts, social media posts, and other features of smartphones allow people to reach each other in ways we had never thought possible 25 years ago.

Use your phone to relay information to authorities, rescue and/or support teams, and to locate loved ones after a disaster occurs. #disasterpreparedness #gleaningfortheworld
