“It’s a good day to do good!”

I recently heard this phrase in a commercial, and it prompted me to think about the many ways we can do good. We can accomplish good things as a result of sharing our time, our prayers, our financial resources, our professional experience…the list is endless!

As a Christian, I am encouraged to do good as an expression of the values outlined in the Bible. I especially like the verse 1 Timothy 6:18, which says, “They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share.”

I believe what makes ‘good’ even better (and immediately rewarding), is whe we join together with others, combine our resources and work collectively towards a meaningful and united goal.

The ‘good’ we are able to create through Gleaning is multiplied considerably because of our partnership together. Your prayers, your financial support, your words of encouragement, your creativity – it all adds up!

I hope you’ll pray about new ways you can partner with Gleaning to do good this month! Perhaps that looks like a special financial donation, a devoted prayer time over this ministry, or the gift of volunteering in our Volunteer Center.

And, if you have any suggestions on ways we can partner together to do good, our team is only a phone call away (434-993-3600). We welcome your call!

Our Gleaning partners distribute humanitarian aid supplies all over the world.

In many countries (especially in the poorest villages on earth) children don't attend school, women are not treated with equality, and the rights and freedoms we have in the United States are simply unheard of.

We are blessed to live in this great nation, and we are thankful for all of our military members and police personnel who work, every day, to keep us safe.

We hope you have a fun and blessed Independence Day.
