Delivering humanitarian relief.
Our mission is to share the love of God at home and around the world through the efficient delivery of high quality, life-saving supplies to victims of poverty and devastation by connecting corporate surplus to critical needs.
Simply said, we help corporations keep their surplus out of landfills by distributing their excess products to those living in extreme poverty across the globe as well as to those facing the difficult aftermath of natural disasters.
We have a network of churches and emergency shelters whom we partner with during times of natural disaster. Together, we’re able to meet the needs of individuals and families facing crisis in the aftermath of major storms. We are known for our integrity and efficiency because we’re able to keep our operational costs as low as possible. All of this is accomplished by our army of volunteers who donate their time and talents to Gleaning, and who fulfill the daily sorting and packing of incoming donated goods in our warehouse. Because of our large volunteer-based operation, when you make a financial contribution to Gleaning, your gift will go towards helping those who need it most, in the moments when it truly matters.
Your donations make a huge impact.
Feeding the Hungry
We’ve partnered up with over 30 area shelters and food pantries to distribute foods and supplies to those in need of help.
Helping the Homeless
We provide food and blankets to help men, women and children come off the streets and into a program to get them back on their feet.
We provide disaster relief supplies for those staying in emergency shelters in the moments and days after a disaster has occurred.
Our WINGS program exists to provide dignity, empowerment, and freedom to women who face disadvantages and discrimination.
Every year, we send an average of 35,000 stuffed animals to children in need of comfort across the United States and all around the world.

Since Hurricane Katrina, we have been working with American families after natural disasters to help them rebuild and reestablish their lives. In each disaster hundreds and thousands of families lose everything and are forced to start their lives over from scratch. We are often the first on the ground providing relief when it is most critical. It is one of the reasons we have consistently been ranked as “the most efficient large charity in the United States” by Forbes Magazine.
Rebuilding after natural disasters is a long and complicated process filled with set backs, confusion and frustration. Even a small amount of preparation can save time, headaches and even lives. That is why we have created a 54-page guide, filled with tips, tricks and techniques for preparing your family in the event of a natural disasters. This will guide you through basic first-aid, disaster specific preparations (earthquake, hurricane and more) and what you will need to work with insurance companies and FEMA for recovery grants and low/no interest loans.
This book is filled with information that we have compiled from our experiences, work with government agencies, and survivors of natural disasters.
A Note From our President
I will never forget my first visit to Gleaning For The World. While it’s now been over a dozen years, it’s still fresh in my mind. I remember so clearly touring the facility and with each step I took, I learned more about the inner workings of the organization. It was – honestly – a lot to take in. Actually, truth be known, it was overwhelming!
I was escorted into an area specifically designed to prepare supplies for shipment and distribution. I was amazed at the sight just ahead of me; the buzz of activity immediately captured my attention and as I stood there for a few moments watching – spellbound – I had just one thought…
I want to be a part of this organization! I want to be a member of a team that is dedicated to one mission and one mission only – helping alleviate suffering – wherever that suffering occurs.
As part of my new employee orientation, I learned that suffering takes on many faces: a family losing their home, a woman giving birth in unsanitary conditions, a crippled child struggling to survive, refugees running for their lives… the suffering is everywhere.
But so is the hope…
Reverend Davidson instilled in our team timeless life lessons – the most important being – the poor and suffering deserve our help. And not only our help, but our love. I look forward to carrying on this mission that was started nearly 20 years ago! With your continued support, we will continue to respond to the poor and suffering with help, hope, love, and dignity.
