ISIS: Growing in Strength in Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia, specifically the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia, is quickly becoming a new battleground for ISIS (The Islamic State) allied groups. Just this week, 103 people were killed in the city of Marawi as fighting broke out between ISIS and government forces. Throughout the city, the black and white flags of ISIS fly in support of this terrorist militia. The government has reacted by declaring temporary martial law and is fighting these monsters. Thousands of families are fleeing for shelter.

We have been working with refugees fleeing the violence caused by ISIS for several years in the Middle East and we know what refugee families need as they escape. Gleaning has an extensive network of partners in the Philippines due to our previous work in the region. You may recall our humanitarian relief following the massive typhoon in 2013. Let’s stand with these victims in the Philippines.

The war is spreading quickly and we ask that you pray for our partners in the Philippines as they continue their outreach to hurting families.
